Nintendo 3DS Release Date, Price Announced

All the rumor and speculation can finally come to an end.

During Nintendo's presentation in Japan today, the company announced the 3DS will go on sale in Japan on February 26, 2011. The unit will cost 25,000 yen ($300). The system will be available in Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black.

Nintendo of Europe has confirmed that the 3DS will be out in March 2011 in its own territories and that it will confirm further details at a later date, while we await confirmation of a US release date from Nintendo of America.

CAPCOM BRINGING MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 PROJECT AND RESIDENT EVILTM: THE MERCENARIES 3D TO NINTENDO 3DS

tbh Europe is getting shafted again.It's 250 dollars in the states.$250 = €185 = £157.That's a pretty significant difference to what it's actually going to retail for here

Pretty annoyed by the price I must say. I really felt that they needed to get it to be €200 for it to be near a day one purchase for me, or €250 if it was bundled with some software, so €270 just puts it out of my mind until there is a huge number of really great games/price drop/3DS lite (or some sort of redesign).
Didn't like that Nintendo said that they were letting the retailers set the price, basically using them as a scape goat for a high price is how I see it.
When you take tax out of the equation, think it's about a $50 difference in price between here and the US.
On a bright note, nice to see that they are allowing you to transfer over your DSi Ware purchases.

EDIT: One hope would be that someone like Tesco will undercut the likes of HMV and GameStop on launch day.

3DS UK Launch Lineup Revealed


Launch window lineup narrowed down to 15 day-one titles, of which just four are firstparty.

Fifteen games have been confirmed to be on UK shelves when Nintendo’s 3DS is released on March 25.

Unusually for Nintendo, just four launch games – Pilotwings Resort and the three versions of Nintendogs + Cats - are firstparty titles.

Nintendo declined to list the games available on day one at last month’s launch event in Amsterdam, instead saying around 30 titles would ship during the system’s launch window, defined as the period between launch day and the start of E3 in June.

I have to agree as well. my only hope for me getting day one (Despite the price tag) was the line up. I think I will be waiting till there is about 3 or so games that I want for it before getting one.

Several retailers in the UK are selling the 3DS for under £200 now.Hopefully retailers here will follow suit and knock €30-€40 off the price.Can't see it happening though tbh

I Received an email from nintendo this morning, apologising for their site bugs preventing me from ordering my OoT soundtrack, asking me to order it now.

Fair play to them - I thought they didn't have any left and thats why it errored out.

FYI, if it keeps giving you the dreaded postcode error, just leave Postcode blank and attempt to submit it several times and it will eventaully give you an option to skip the address check.

It looks pretty good and the 3D is supposed to be awesome

However it did get a 6 in Edge and its supposed to have only around 4-5 hours playtime with replaybility supposed to come from co-op

I read that you can't delete your save data. So once the game saves, it permanent.

So if you want to get it, don't get it second hand. Also don't expect a good cash or trade-in value for the game.

The save game issue is that the high scores cant be deleted. When you start a new game and go from there all unlockables etc are still gotten in sequence etc.

Thsi just means if you buy it second hand the high scores wont be the default.

Played it for about an hour now. Its alright. Sound quality is awful. Not a big deal though. Only played as Jill and Rebecca so far. Jill is pretty good but Rebecca sucks. She can't do her fire spray thing from RE5. Only played single player so far. Going to try and get into an online game now.

Well played some online. Was good enough. Managed to get a SS rank in my first online match. You get different abilities the more you play. Kinda crap that you can't add people to a friend list or something.

Just used the speakers. Will try earphones later. I didn't use the 3D much really. Seemed alright I guess. There wasn't stuff coming out of the screen or anything. It was just the HUD that that sort of came out.
