Started playing Tales of Monkey island and I only have 2 problems.
1: The mouse movement has this weird movement thats hard to explain but I will get use to it.
2: The game is only playable in 1024 x 768, it's annoying that it is in wide-screen mode. 1280 x 720 (the max) is horrible because it's missing 1/5 of the screen on the right and the other 1/5 is off screen to the left.

Re: The Game Chat Thread
Ok, so I have been playing Age of Empires 3 and I have to say that its a very good game imo.
I went into the multiplayer to find that there was just under 3000 people online. So that is pretty win. I decided to open up a clan on the game for my other forum. If anyone wants to create a AOE3 clan for Wiffy, go for it.

Details on new tomb raider reboot from gameinformer (looks great from the description anyway):
- Lara is 21 in this game
- It's not only a reboot of the franchise but a reboot of the entire brand. As a result there will be no "real" Lara model this time.
- They're doing performance capturing with this game
- There are brutal deaths in the game this time. One is described as a deranged man stabbing Lara in the chest and then closing her eyes after she's dead. Another includes a boulder falling on her leg to trap her before another falls and crushes her head.
- CD won't talk specifics on weapons but concept art shows a bow, shotgun and pistol
- The lock on targeting system is gone and it now has a free aim system. CD says that it can compete with any of their competitors.
- "I think that the major difference between this game and the old is the concept of smoke and mirrors," begins Darrell Gallagher, the studio head at Crystal Dynamics. "There was an illusion of freedom because of streaming and loading that would pop you out in a different location, but this is absolutely real. You can literally go any direction that you see and carve your own way to the finish line instead of being guide."
- "It was important in the game to not only deliver the character arc of Lara Croft emotionally, but to deliver it in gameplay as well so the player gets to grow into a hardened survivor," says experienced director Noah Hughes. As the game unfolds, Lara will scavenge new tools and gear that augment her abilities. Lara's athletic prowess will also evolve. Some areas begin inaccessible due to physical limitations or scarce supplies. With the right skills and gear, however, the island is Lara's for the taking.
- There are base camps in the game. Here you can combine items to create something new and access a skill system to upgrade Lara's abilities. You'll also be able to use base camps to fast travel to different locations to minimize backtracking.
- You'll need to gather food and water in order to survive
- There are humans in the game, including some of the crew members from the shipwreck off the coast of the island.
That's about it. It seems like CD is still be fairly secretive about the gameplay details. There are some nice in-game screenshots. One features Lara hanging upside down in what looks to be a cocoon. Also several screenshots showing her bloodied and with bandages on.

I've finally started playing a game again after all this time!
I bought Okamiden the other day, and it's pretty hard to put it down. Unfortunately it's a bitch to play in Japanese, 'cause even if there's bits I understand, during cutscenes you don't control the text and it moves too fast to read.

I heard the rumour about the remake of halo 1. Aslong as they only update the graphics and add multiplayer and release it as a cheap Games on Deamand title I'll get it.

Yep doesnt have the sags or anything like that. You pick a character and theres a number of fights in his mode and under different conditions like beat in 180 secs and defeat oppenent who starts with high tension etc and at the end of his mode theres a boss fight and if you beat that you get a dragonball and a new character

Elder Scrolls Skyrim:
There are a bunch of in game screens I hear as well.
EDIT: http://www.gamingeverything.com/2011/1/elder_scrolls_v_scans
The combat system has once again been overhauled. Now you may choose what you place in each hand, whether it be a sword and shield, dagger and sword, two swords or even a weapon in one hand and a spell in another. Assaulting with your shield is now apart of melee combat, being able to shield bash them to stagger them to give yourself an advantage in combat. Spells can now be dedicated to a certain hand meaning you can fight with your left hand aflame while your right hand is charged with lightning. Ranged combat has been improved by increasing the damage bows deal significantly, so much so that it is possible for one to one shot an npc from stealth but also so the draw time of your bow has been increased. Ranged combat shouldn't be able to be abused from stealth like in Oblivion due to the fact that NPCs are FAR more intelligent than any TES game ever and possibly any game to date, we shall see.
The AI for Skyrim is a vast improvement over that of Oblivion. The AI will react to everything you do. If you kill a shopkeeper, a relative of the shopkeeper will take over the business and treat you appropriatly. If you drop a sword on the ground near NPCs they will react to that as well, such as a child might try to give you the sword back or two men will fight over it. Another example, if you have high magic stats, a fellow magic user will challage you to duel. you may enter a town, and a random npc will ask you to rescure they're daughter. the game looks at dungeons in the surrounding area, makes you go to one you've never visited, and scales it to your strength. im not sure, but it makes it seem like they're only level scaling when your doing quests, not when your aimlessly wanderin.when yu talk to npcs, there is no zoom or pause in the world around you. the npc will continue to do what they're doing, while holding a conversation with you.
The environment is that of a mountainous range area close to that of Alaska. This area is also said to be inhabited by the usual wolves and other creatures but also trolls, Sabertoothed tigers and Mammoths. Also there will be giant spider(s) in Skyrim as well. The draw distances have been greatly increased allowing for little to no grid pattern or low resolution distance land. Also it has been stated that wherever you can see you can go in Skyrim.
The plot is that you are possibly the last Dragonborn, a group characterized by their ability to hunt dragons. The Septim line was a prominent Dragonborn line protected by the Dragonguards which eventually became the blades. After the death of the Septim line, the Blades were hunted down and killed one by one and now are almost completely gone. The return of the dragons was foretold in the Elder Scrolls and was ushered in by the destruction of the Staff of Chaos, the creation of the Numidium, the events at Red Mountain and the Oblivion Crisis. The last event to unfold before the dragons return was the people of Skyrim turning against each other which is happening at the beginning of the game. Dragons start to appear in greater and greater numbers as the game goes on and will eventually culminate with Alduin possibly coming into the world, but we have no idea yet. One of the last Blades left, Esbern, will be your mentor in the game. he is voiced by max van sydow, who narrerated the teaser trailer. you will have to go to High Hrothgar, home of the Greybeards, and learn how to fight the dragons. this means you will have to climb 7,000 steps to reach them
Skyrim features true shadows, more realistic faces on NPCs and more distinction between the races. if you look at the picture of the lady in the bar, you can tell the faces look much much better. While the art directionn looks similar to oblivion's, the graphics are much better (its hard to tell from the scans though) The normal creatures that you are used to have been updated graphically and look much more appealing (especially Trolls). There will be HDR and many other environmental effects that are at the cutting edge of gaming now and including greatly updated water effects.
So far it has been shown that we will have wolves, elk, trolls, giant spiders and of course dragons. There is also talk of Saber-toothed tigers, mammoths, werewolves and giants. The most shocking creature of all is monstrous and unimaginable....Children!
There are 18 skills for players to learn, which is three down from Oblivion and eleven down from Morrowind. Skills will try and accommodate the player who wants to put their focus into a single profession, as well as allow room for players who prefer to do a little bit of everything. The mysticism skill is gone. The enchanting skill is still present.
The HUD can be turned on or off, and third person view has been greatly improved. fast travel remains in the game, and players can now sprint, which comsumes fatigue. the menu works in real time. you want to see your skills, you look to the heavens. when you look in your inventory, your pull your bag out and display your items. to view the map, you look at the ground and i believe the view zooms out to a larger view of skyrim.
There are a bunch of in game screens I hear as well.

i dunno why youd be excited about it. if its anything like 10 - 2 and the past few games there will be a sillier story, more grindy class systems, its coming out so soon it seems more like an expansion and if they strip down the game play any more it'll be like watching a video. this doesnt interest me too much to be honest
